there was kinda a love story subplot i remember in the originals
i think Jaden is a bit too young for that

too bad its not gonna be filmed at the original apts! lol
i live a couple of blocks from it
coulda gone and checked out jada :D

I don't think it's a 'remake' in the sense that it updates the original story. I think they take the premise and tell a similar story. Jackie Chan is playing Mr. Han, the new Mr. Miyagi, and it's going to be Kung Fu, not Karate. Take out the lovey dovey mushy stuff and it'll be better. Let the first movie be about him developing his skills and then the sequels can see him grow up and mature and have love interests. Dem black guy's can't resist our asian women.

not exactly the same ..... i guess .... but parts that made that movie memorable to me was the whole glory of love stuff

I saw the preview at the theatre... The whole room "LOLed" after Jackie swatted the fly. That was an awesome allusion to the original.

This kid's got some flexibility. Big Willie needs to teach him how to punch, but he's got a pretty good handle on reverse figure eight with the staff.

actually i thought that was kinda the reason why he started learning karate...cause of the girl. and he "wins" the girl at the end when he won the tournament

man, makes me want to watch it right now. And I loved him in My Cousin Vinny. Great acting! :)>-
